Key Highlights:
– Interdisciplinary Study: The interns worked with PhD students on various topics, integrating medical and engineering backgrounds to focus on applied physiology related to respiration and physics of NIV Interfaces.
– Objectives: The primary objectives were to learn about gas laws and their applied physiology in mechanical ventilation, as well as CFD studies of NIV interfaces.
– Guidance: The project was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Rashmi Uddanwadiker and Mentor, Dr. Satish Deopujari.
– Innovation: This integration at the student level was a novel approach, addressing a knowledge gap and providing a fresh outlook on existing ideas and data in both fields.
– Impact: The collaboration aimed to reduce errors in hospital operational functions and enhance the healthcare infrastructure.
Conclusion:
The SIP successfully achieved its objectives, providing a unique learning experience for the interns and contributing to the development of interdisciplinary studies in the field of medicine and engineering.
